We'll discuss your loved one's care needs, medical history, mobility, social preferences, and daily routine. We'll ask about your family's priorities — budget, location, amenities, and what the non-negotiables are.

We Research and Identify Options

Using everything we learned about your loved one, we review our knowledge of communities across the Valley to identify the options that genuinely fit — not just ones that are available.

We consider care level, staffing ratios, culture, location, room availability, pricing, and whether a community's philosophy aligns with your family's values.

We present you with a curated shortlist, not a long list of every option in the zip code.

Typically 3–5 well-matched options, carefully selected for your loved one.

We Schedule and Join Your Tours

We coordinate tours at the communities on your shortlist and can join you in person or help you prepare thoroughly if you're visiting on your own.

We'll arm you with the right questions to ask during each tour — things that matter but that families rarely know to ask on their own. What's the turnover rate? How do staff handle difficult behaviors? What happens if care needs increase?

Our goal is to make sure you feel confident and informed, not rushed or pressured.

Tours are typically scheduled within 24–48 hours of your initial consultation.

We Help You Make the Decision and Move In

Once you've found the right community, we help you navigate the next steps — understanding the move-in agreement, coordinating logistics, and making sure the transition is as smooth as possible for your loved one.

We're available to answer questions, help with negotiation if appropriate, and provide emotional support during what can be a bittersweet transition.

And once your loved one is settled, we remain a resource. If circumstances change, we're here.

We stay involved through move-in day and beyond — not just until placement.

Guiding Hands is compensated by senior living communities when we help place a resident. This is the industry-standard model, similar to how a real estate agent is compensated by the seller, not the buyer. You receive expert guidance at no cost.

Does That Create a Conflict of Interest?

We work hard to ensure it doesn't. We recommend communities based on fit, not fees. We work with a wide network of communities across all price points, and our reputation depends on families trusting our guidance — not on placing residents quickly.

Is There Any Obligation?

None at all. You can have a consultation, receive our shortlist, tour communities, and decide not to proceed — with no pressure or obligation at any point. We want to earn your trust, not strong-arm a placement.
